White Spaces

White Spaces arise in the context of Spectrum utilisation. The licensed holders of  Spectrum do not use all of it and there remain unutilised portions of the same. White Space refers to this unused spectrum. There are many innovations and research being undertaken to use this 'space' to provide future broadband wireless services and applications at low costs. Or it can be used for communications applications like radio, television, mobile telephony, wi-fi etc. Presently Dept of Telecom has no policy on this.
